Body Waxing - Should You or Shouldn't You

Here's what I would ask if I were going to get any part of my body waxed.

1. May I see the was ingredient list, please?
The skin is our largest organ. Anything applied to it can absorb into skin very quickly - especially hot stuff as heat opens pores.

2. What is the warming pot made of?
Ceramic crocks are usually painted on the inside and the paint could contain lead which can leach into the wax. Teflon coated pots can leach chemicals into the wax, as can aluminum. Basically, every answer that is not "stainless steel" or "glass" is the wrong answer for me.

3. Are the wax and applicator "single use"?
Enough said.

If you do choose waxing, make sure the "after wax" lotion is organic and non-toxic. The skin can be very irritated after ripping out hair and it needs to be treated delicately. In fact, some hairs don't come out easily and this may lead to spot bleeding. If your skin is in this tender state, make sure anything that touches your skin is sterile and organic (and use your own clean hands to apply it).

Choosing an Iridologist

Iridology is an art and science that is not licensed by any state of federal authority. It is suggested that you ask some questions as you are seeking out an Iridologist. Please make sure the Iridologist you see is:

1. Certified: This means that the practioner has met the standards of the practice.
2. Holistic: This means the practitioner sees you as a spiritual, mental, emotional and physical being and what shows up in your eyes is more than physical.

We are building on our knowledge exponentially everyday. With new and better lenses and lighting, we are seeing more than ever. Iridologists around the world continue to gather at events where we are sharing new discoveries and information. Choose a practitioner who stays on the leading edge of this knowledge

In Praise of Dr. Richard Schulze and His Herbal Products

I love Dr. Richard Schulze’s herbal products. And I love his common sense approach. He studied with many of the natural health greats such as the renowned Dr. Bernard Jensen and the legendary Dr. John Christopher. You can tell Dr. Schulze is passionate about health – especially YOUR health. And his passion really shows in the quality of his products. My new favorite product of his is the Kidney Cleanse. I just finished the 5 day protocol last week and WOW – it elevated my game.

Don’t wait until your organs are talking to you to give them an opportunity to cleanse. Consider a proactive approach – check out Dr. Schulze’s website at www.herbdoc.com

Seeing Changes in Your Eyes as You Heal

We know we feel better as we heal and certainly there is a brightness that comes from our eyes. Our eyes provide further testimony to the inner healing taking place. Lines in the sclera can change, recede or even diminish. Structures, colors, accumulations and lines in the iris can change. This is the power of the body healing itself – and the tough yet delicate tissue responding to the body’s internal patter gives testimony to this healing. Observing the lines, colors, structures, accumulations, and etc. is also a good way to know if one is making progress with various protocols. To make this comparison, one would want photos taken regularly (at least every 4 weeks). If the person is not feeling better and there are no observable changes, he or she may need a more effective or aggressive protocol.

Eat the Best

If you really feel you must have that something that’s not on your everyday healthy eating plan, at least get the very best of what you want and enjoy every bite.

If it’s a steak you want, get the best looking, organically raised, freshest steak you can find. If you choose less than organic and fresh, you could be taking in second-hand steroids, vaccines, meat glue, genetically modified soy and corn feed, various animal byproducts and etc.

One really crummy choice can undo a lot of good and it’s just not worth it. So eat only the best.

Hidden Degeneration

Have you ever noticed how some people seem to not age? Despite a standard American diet and other poor habits, they look great and seem to feel great for a long time. Then suddenly, they turn a corner and age very quickly.

Through the process of homeostasis, the body is always striving to maintain balance. It will do so even at risk to itself. For example, when enough nutrients aren’t available, the body will “steal from Peter to pay Paul”.  For example, when we don’t have enough calcium to keep our heart pumping (a high priority), the body may take calcium from the bones (strong bones being a lesser priority than keeping our heart pumping).

When we take in too much indigestible junk food or too many environmental toxins, the body will store this toxic waste until it has a chance to dump it. If we don’t nourish ourselves and allow for regular cleansing and detoxification, eventually there will be a tipping point. No one goes to bed healthy and wakes up with a dreaded disease. Most disease starts with dis-ease - slowly and quietly - and over time becomes disease. The natural, life-sustaining cycle is to cleanse/detoxify and nourish. Many who have experienced dis-ease and disease have made “miraculous” recoveries by simply following this cycle. The more intense the dis-ease, the stronger one’s commitment to natural living should be. All the greatest health teachers throughout history have taught that as long as one has a pulse, there is hope for a full recovery. While it is never too late to take good care of yourself, save yourself unnecessary wear and tear and start today.
