Hidden Degeneration

Have you ever noticed how some people seem to not age? Despite a standard American diet and other poor habits, they look great and seem to feel great for a long time. Then suddenly, they turn a corner and age very quickly.

Through the process of homeostasis, the body is always striving to maintain balance. It will do so even at risk to itself. For example, when enough nutrients aren’t available, the body will “steal from Peter to pay Paul”.  For example, when we don’t have enough calcium to keep our heart pumping (a high priority), the body may take calcium from the bones (strong bones being a lesser priority than keeping our heart pumping).

When we take in too much indigestible junk food or too many environmental toxins, the body will store this toxic waste until it has a chance to dump it. If we don’t nourish ourselves and allow for regular cleansing and detoxification, eventually there will be a tipping point. No one goes to bed healthy and wakes up with a dreaded disease. Most disease starts with dis-ease - slowly and quietly - and over time becomes disease. The natural, life-sustaining cycle is to cleanse/detoxify and nourish. Many who have experienced dis-ease and disease have made “miraculous” recoveries by simply following this cycle. The more intense the dis-ease, the stronger one’s commitment to natural living should be. All the greatest health teachers throughout history have taught that as long as one has a pulse, there is hope for a full recovery. While it is never too late to take good care of yourself, save yourself unnecessary wear and tear and start today.

Living Longer

Are you planning for a happy, healthy and fulfilling life until you die or planning for decline in your old age? Whatever you’re planning for usually shows up.

Sometimes we take on the beliefs of others without even realizing it. Certainly the media has done it’s share to portray older people as helpless, cantankerous, irrational, slow, outdated, unhealthy and sexually undesirable. We just go with the flow - believe it’s inevitable that we, too, will go into physical and mental degeneration as we pass through time. We come to believe that the best we can hope for is to hold back the tide with smoke and mirrors.

Decline is entirely optional. We can choose to live our potential which expands everyday. Or we can choose to degenerate by neglecting ourselves – neglecting our health and our happiness.

If time is the measurer and space is the field, use your time wisely and fill your life with the best you can imagine.

Let’s really LIVE longer – not just take longer to die.
